A man suspected of killing a dog during a burglary at a home in West Hollywood has been arrested, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced on Sunday.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Anmol Bhatia in connection with a home burglary that took place at a home on Harper Avenue on Thursday. Security footage from the home showed a man covering his face with a blue bandana entering the home just before midnight.

During the break-in, a small dog was abused until it became unresponsive, according to LASD. It was found dead when the resident later returned home.

It’s unclear if the burglar took off with any items from the home.

Police in Beverly Hills were notified of a man who matched the description of the suspect wanted in the case. Bhatia was detained around 7 p.m. near the area of Wilshire Boulevard and Elm Drive.

It’s unclear what charges the suspect faces in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing.
