SAN ANTONIO – Police have released information on a major crash that left one woman hospitalized in critical condition.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, police arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle crash near the corner of Culebra and Alamo Downs Parkway on the far West Side.

When police arrived, they found a 38-year-old woman in critical condition and rushed her to the hospital. She has since been stabilized.

Police say that a 2022 grey Kia Sorento was traveling eastbound on Culbera, and a 2012 white Chevy Colorado was traveling westbound.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the Colorado swerved into the eastbound lane. To avoid a collision, the Kia moved into the center lane.

Despite the effort to avoid a crash, the Kia and the Chevrolet collided, leaving the Kia to spin around and the Chevy Colorado to flip onto its side.

Both drivers were assessed for intoxication, but both were found not to be driving drunk.

The passenger in the Kia Sorento, a 38-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. As for now, there are no criminal elements associated with the collision.

This is a developing story. We’ll update it as we have more information.
