- New York City’s Office of Nightlife, a branch of the city’s Department of Small Business Services, has launched a new grant for non-profits.
Nightlife mayor Jeff Garcia announced the news earlier this month in a live interview on The Lot Radio. Speaking with founder François Vaxelaire, Garcia revealed that his office has secured $350,000 to launch a new grant, the FY26 Nightlife Grant, which supports non-profits working in the titular industry. The scheme is accepting applications from nonprofit organisations working to “strengthen nightlife business vitality within New York City’s commercial corridors” from now through Wednesday, October 15th at 11:59 PM EST.
Funded through the Neighborhood 360° Grant Program, the grant will award up to $50,000 to successful applicants. Per an application form, prospective grantees should submit proposals that align with one or more of the following objectives: local promotion and commercial visibility, retail retention and industry capacity strategies, promoting safe, inclusive, and sustainable nightlife districts, and preserving and supporting nightlife culture.
The new grant is the first of its kind from the Office of Nightlife, which was established in 2017 as the first dedicated nightlife office in North America. Gargia took on his role in 2023, succeeding Ariel Palitz.
