On Tuesday, the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Pelicans held their annual media day, which marks the beginning of training camp for NBA teams. The Phoenix Suns will hold their media day on Wednesday, and the Philadelphia 76ers will have theirs on Friday.

All other NBA teams will have their media day on Monday, Sept. 29. But for the Los Angeles Lakers, fans will get a chance to hear from a couple of important people in the organization beforehand.

Per Jovan Buha, general manager Rob Pelinka and head coach JJ Redick will speak to the media this Thursday afternoon, and fans can catch that press conference on the Lakers’ official YouTube channel.

This isn’t necessarily an out-of-the-ordinary thing for them. The Lakers did something similar just prior to the start of last season, and there are sure to be a lot of interesting questions that will be asked on Thursday.

The team’s first preseason game will take place on Friday, Oct. 3, versus the Phoenix Suns, and two nights later, it will take on the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers kick off their regular season at home versus the Warriors on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and that date will mark NBC’s first NBA telecast since 2002.
