Officers with the Upland Police Department Wednesday arrested a man who is suspected of assaulting a woman.

The victim was located by police on 11th Street near Berry Court at around 9 a.m. as she was bleeding from her eye and foot. She later told police her ex-boyfriend, a transient, assaulted her.

After learning the suspect was living inside a vacant building in the area, officers went to the property as a drone was monitoring the activity from overhead.

When officers searched the trash-filled property, they found the suspect hiding under a blanket and took him into custody for felony domestic violence.

“(He) won’t be putting his hands on any women where he’s going,” Upland police said in a social media post.

Anyone who is in a volatile and harmful relationship was encouraged to call Upland PD immediately for support.
