If you ride the MTA subway in New York City, prepare to hear Cardi B’s voice in its public safety announcements.
Cardi released a video with the MTA announcing the partnership in which she revealed her new PSAs. Some of those are “steps are for stepping, not sitting” and “these trains don’t move without you, so make sure you pay that fare and keep it real.”
Check out the PSA below.
Cardi took to the subway prior to the release of her new album, Am I the Drama?, to lean into flop era allegations in a funny skit.
The rapper wore a hoodie, sweatpants, and slides while carrying a box of her new albums on a train. “Good evening everybody,” she told passengers. “I’m out here tryna sell these CDs. I’m trying to change my life around. I used to be a professional ballerina. I’m tryna make a better example for my kids.”
“If you could please buy my new album, Am I the Drama? … $9.99,” she continued.
Of course, Cardi’s flop era didn’t start — in fact, she’s now in the exact opposite. When Am I The Drama? came out on Sept. 19, the album went platinum in just one day, undoubtedly driven by the inclusion of her 2020 collab with Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP,” and her 2021 five-time platinum single, “Up.” Both songs ended up peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On Sept. 21, Hits Daily Double predicted that the album could sell between 125,000 and 150,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It’s also supposed to hit over 100 million total streams in the same time period.
Shortly after its release, Am I The Drama? — and Walmart — was the reason that Cardi broke a world record.
Cardi shared the news on X with a post revealing how Walmart was delivering her albums to her fans in Dallas, TX. “I can’t even believe this, my fans have been getting my album from drones,” she said.
According to TMZ, the rapper broke the Guinness World Record for “most deliveries in one hour” with 176 drone deliveries.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
