TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) — A pilot program will soon be introduced in Terre Haute to reduce the number of crows visiting the downtown area during winter.
The Vigo County Capital Improvement Board funded a nearly $4,000 study on crows late last year. The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce collaborated with local businesses and Wild Goose Chase, a company specializing in crow management.
Based on the company’s recommendations, the board will purchase an automated laser system for about $18,000. The system aims to scare off crows without harming them.
Wild Goose Chase will monitor the laser’s effectiveness and suggest other methods for areas where the laser may not work as well.
