SAN ANTONIO -A man was found dead late Wednesday night at a Southeast Side apartment complex, after police initially responded to reports of gunfire but found no evidence of a shooting.

Officers were first dispatched to the Pecan Valley Golf Club Apartments, near East Southcross Boulevard and Pecan Valley Drive, shortly after 11 p.m., the authorities said. They left after finding no signs of a shooting.

Minutes later, as additional calls came in, officers returned to the complex and located the man’s body between parked vehicles. He had been shot multiple times, the police said.

The victim’s identity has not been released, and investigators have not identified a suspect. The police said the investigation remains ongoing.
