Thanks to a third-period momentum boost, the Dallas Stars are still undefeated in preseason play.

Dallas scored five unanswered goals to defeat the Minnesota Wild 5-2 on Thursday night at Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Wyatt Johnston found the back of the net twice. Mavrik Bourque, Justin Hryckowian and Vladislav Kolyachonok each contributed one goal for Dallas.

The Stars found themselves in some early trouble after surrendering two first-period goals. Marco Rossi opened the scoring with 1:04 left in the period. About 10 seconds later, Rossi scored again to amplify Minnesota’s advantage.

Dallas took complete control from that point forward. Johnston scored his first goal of the night in with 3:43 left in the second period, capitalizing on a well-placed pass from Bourque. Just 35 seconds after the second intermission, Johnston would score his second goal to tie things up.
