CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A brand of vitamins that were sold nationwide at retailers like Walmart and Target were recalled due to “risk of serious injury or death” from poisoning, especially for children.
According to a recall report from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, around 60,000 units of California Gold Nutrition Iron Supplements: Daily Prenatal Multi, Ultamins Women’s Multivitamin, and Ultamins Women’s 50+ Multivitamin were recalled.
The product was recalled after authorities learned that the package was not in federally compliant child-resistant packaging, “posing a risk of deadly poisoning, if the contents are swallowed by young children.”
The specific products recalled were:
- Daily Prenatal Multi, Batch Codes: 2307050A, 2404096A, 2411100A, Expiration Dates: 2307050A, 2404096A, 2411100A
- Ultamins Women’s Multivitamin, Batch Codes: V0532, V0533, Expiration Dates: 11/2026, 07/2026
- Ultamins Women’s 50+ Multivitamin, Batch Codes: V0534, V0536, Expiration Dates: 07/2026, 11/2026
The organization advised customers who purchased the product to contact the manufacturer, iHerb, to learn how to dispose of and receive a refund for the products.
