AUBURN — Simon Walker, a freshman guard with Auburn basketball, injured his right foot in practice last week and underwent surgery Tuesday, Sept. 22, the program announced Friday, Sept. 26.
The Huntsville native, whose procedure was done by Dr. Charles Pitts of Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, is expected to make a full recovery and return this season, according to a release.

“Simon has been one of our most improved players since he stepped foot on campus this summer, I’m incredibly proud of the strides he’s made,” head coach Steven Pearl said in a release. “This is a minor setback, and I have no doubt that he will attack his rehab just as aggressively as he attacked his development this summer.”

The first commitment in Auburn‘s 2025 signing class, Walker was listed as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals and ranked as the No. 2 player in the state. He chose the Tigers over offers from Clemson, Iowa and Virginia Tech, among others.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard received an ASWA All-State honorable mention as a senior at Huntsville High School after earning all-state honors his junior year.
