Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown has had numerous doubters throughout his NBA career. Every time people write him off, he does something outstanding, and this season could be no different.

Brown will lead Boston as its top option this season, since Jayson Tatum is sidelined with an Achilles injury. Brown will likely face some new doubters who believe he can’t lead a team, but 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Marc Bertrand doesn’t doubt Brown’s ability to step up.

“Everyone nationally is going to doubt this team, and there is no better player to be disrespected and have a chip on his shoulder than Jaylen Brown,” Bertrand said Friday.

Brown has shown he can absolutely shine as the top option on a playoff-ready team. Brown demonstrated his elite talent during the 2024 NBA Finals, averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and five assists.

Brown’s primary challenge will be adjusting to playing alongside several new teammates. The Celtics traded away two starters: guard Jrue Holiday and forward Kristaps Porzingis. Additionally, veteran center Al Horford is not expected to return to the team.
