A man died Thursday after he was found unconscious in a swimming pool at The Village apartment complex, Dallas police said.

According to a news release, officers were called about 11 a.m. to the 5600 block of Village Glen Drive on a person in danger in high water call. Police said a person was found in the swimming pool unconscious; Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced them dead.

Police did not identify the man or provide any details about how he is suspected of having died. A matching case did not appear in a search of the Dallas County medical examiner’s office website.

A message sent to residents of The Village and obtained by The Dallas Morning News said the man who died was a resident and was found unresponsive in the lap pool of the Village Country Club.

The Village is a sprawling apartment community in northeast Dallas that contains dozens of apartment buildings and a small shopping and dining area. The person was found in the middle of the community, near the Drey Hotel and the restaurants.
