SAN ANTONIO – A suspect accused of cutting his wife during an argument early Saturday is behind bars.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to an address near the corner of I-35 and Copeland Drive for a reported cutting in progress.
According to police, the victim, a 33-year-old woman, was found with injuries to her lower body. The suspect, a 44-year-old man, was still at the scene and was detained by police.
Investigators say the two people, who are spouses, got into an argument. During that fight, the man grabbed a cutting instrument and allegedly cut the victim in the lower extremity.
First responders took the woman to the hospital for treatment; however, her injuries were non-life-threatening.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
