Sabrina Carpenter will be living large in New York City now that she has snatched up a penthouse for $9.95 million. The purchase comes at a convenient time, as the pop star has five shows scheduled at Madison Square Garden at the end of October.

Located in Tribeca, the duplex was previously owned by Cassandra Grey, the founder of luxury beauty retailer Violet Grey and widow of former Paramount Pictures chief Brad Grey. According to Zillow, she purchased the property for just under $10.8 million in August 2022. Grey lived there with London-born DJ Samantha Ronson but the couple broke up a year ago, according to Page Six.

Zillow reveals that the couple put the Tribeca residence on the market in March 2023 for $12 million, followed by a price change to $11.5 million just two weeks later and a further cut to $10.7 million the following month. The listing was removed and put back on the market for rent for $32,000 in August 2023. The following month, the listing was removed, and it appears that the space was being rented out until now.

According to Realtor.com, the 108 Leonard St. apartment was put on the market for $10.5 million, and Carpenter snagged it for just under $10 million.

Carpenter’s home — and the entire building — has recently been given new life. The 16-story building was designed by McKim, Mead & White in the late 19th century, according to Mansion Global. Hospitality design firm Jeffrey Beers International restored the Italian Renaissance Revival landmark. It was once the home of the New York Life Insurance Company, but over the last few years, it has been transformed into luxury condos. Elad Group served as the building’s developer.

“There are always challenges working with landmarked buildings, particularly one that’s over 100 years old,” COO of Elad Group Alex Olsen told Mansion Global. “There are always hidden conditions, some of those things that can surprise you at times.”

The duplex in question features three bedrooms and four bathrooms throughout 2,910 square feet. It has multiple private terraces and impressive skyline views. It looks like Carpenter will be in good company. Country music star Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman purchased a $3.5 million home in 2020 in the same building, according to the New York Post. And Alexandra Clancy, the widow of novelist Tom Clancy, found a new home in the building earlier this year for $21.5 million, according to Robb Report. 108 Leonard St. features an indoor pool, roof gardens and a fitness center for residents.
