With temperatures dropping and pumpkin drinks flowing, fall is upon us, and with it comes fall-themed events.
Here are some upcoming events UTA students and Arlington residents can attend.
Witch Way to Bingo
Play to win at EXCEL Campus Activities’ Witch Way to Bingo event from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Palo Duro Lounge in the University Center. There will be eight rounds where players have a chance to win some potentially spooky prizes. Costumes are encouraged.
Library fall book sale
The Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library will be holding its annual fall book sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 to Oct. 10 at the First United Methodist Church of Arlington. There will be 36 categories of books, along with puzzles, CDs, DVDs, art, games and audiobooks, with most priced at $1.
Fall Festival at River Legacy Park
The festival will occur from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at the River Legacy Nature Center and River Legacy Park. The annual event will feature games, bounce houses, a pumpkin patch, a dunk tank, live music from local bands and festival foods.
Bull-O-Ween
The 19th annual Bull-O-Ween will happen from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at Ten10 Events. Hosted by the Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, the event will have “ghoulishly” good food, “spooktacular” shopping, bulldog mingling and fundraising. Costumes are encouraged for both humans and dogs.
Fright Night
Enjoy a haunted house setting at Fright Night from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Rio Grande Ballroom in the University Center. Students can meet and bond with other Mavericks.
Halloween movie night
Catch a viewing of “Sinners” with a Black American Sign Language interpretation from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 22. Hosted by the MavTHAT ASL Club, the aim of this event is to promote awareness about Deaf culture and accessibility.
There will be a costume contest open to all students.
Halloween party
Play halloween-themed games, take photos with a seasonal backdrop and socialize at the Campus Cat Coalition Halloween party from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 in the University Center.
Spooky Spectacular
Engineers Without Borders will be hosting a spooky event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Guadalupe Room in the University Center. It will feature games, team challenges and Raising Cane’s chicken.
Halloween Casino Night
The 28th Halloween Casino Night is from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Bluebonnet Ballroom in the University Center. This Halloween party alternative provides students with a safe, substance-free environment to enjoy the holiday. It will kick off with a live DJ, alcohol and substance abuse awareness activities, mocktails, a costume contest and a prize raffle.
Dia de los Muertos recital
Listen to the members of the music Mav community at their Dia de Los Muertos recital to honor lost ones and celebrate memories at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Irons Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building. The performance is free to all.
