A woman was stabbed to death by her romantic partner inside her Bronx apartment, police said Sunday.
Neighbors of the couple in their building on E. 232nd St. near White Plains Road said there were no signs of trouble before 40-year-old Tamara Rowe was stabbed in the chest and right arm at about 8:35 p.m. Saturday.
“That was very surprising,” said neighbor Cheryl Thompson, 48. “There was no reason. No argument, no nothing. … They never fight.”
The victim lived with her husband and their daughter, according to neighbors.
It is not yet clear whether the victim and suspect were married, but neighbors refer to the man, who lived with the victim and their daughter, as Rowe’s husband.
Medics rushed Rowe to Montefiore Medical Center, where she died.
Cops are still looking for her suspected killer, a man cops described as the victim’s romantic partner.
““This is strange — very,” Thompson said. “He come and go with his wife, and she takes her daughter to school. Very quiet, nice couple. … They seemed very good with the child.”
The building’s super, who gave his name as Andy, says surveillance video shows the victim’s husband leaving the apartment before cops arrived. He took the stairs from their top-floor apartment in the six-story building, according to the 57-year-old super.
“This is very hard for me,” the super said. “They’re very quiet people. … They work very hard. They were both working very hard.”

The super broke down in tears recalling how he would sometimes watch the couple’s daughter when both parents were at work.
“I’ve never seen them argue,” said a neighbor who lives in an adjacent apartment who gave his name only as Nana, 31. “I’ve never seen them have no problems.”
“I’m devastated,” said a neighbor who declined to give her name who also shares a wall with the couple. “I’m trying to wrap my brain around this.”
