HOUSTON (CW39)- Early Friday morning, Tropical Storm Humberto upgraded to a category 1 hurricane. The storm is moving slow at 5 mph to the northwest. Sustained winds are 90 mph as of mid morning Friday. The winds will have to get to 96 mph before the storm can upgrade to a category 2. The hurricane could intensify to a category 4 by the end of the weekend.
The path looks to move northwest around Bermuda before curving back into the Atlantic.
The National Hurricane Center is also watching another disturbance in the Atlantic which is west of Hurricane Humberto and could bring more direct impacts to the United States.
