SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is in the hospital after losing control while “lane-splitting” in traffic, and a driver is on the run after not assisting in the crash.
The incident occurred on Saturday night around 11:55 p.m. near the 1300 block of IH-35.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the 23-year-old motorcyclist was “lane-splitting” to avoid slower traffic when he lost control, striking an unidentified black vehicle. The motorcyclist was then ejected and hit the back of a Chevy Malibu.
The driver of the unidentified black car did not stop to help the motorcyclist and will be facing charges when located. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious bodily injuries, but is recovering in stable condition.
