On the eve of their annual media day to kick off training camp, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly made a roster move.

They have waived Kylor Kelley, a center they recently signed to an Exhibit 10 deal. Kelley, a seven-footer out of Oregon State University, went undrafted in 2020 and logged 11 games last season with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans. During those games, he had averaged 3.1 points on 63.6% shooting from the field and 3.5 rebounds in 11.5 minutes a game.

While in college, he had been named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team twice for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

The team had signed Kelley to an Exhibit 10 deal last summer, and he ended up with the South Bay Lakers, its G League affiliate, where he averaged 11.1 points on 67.4% field-goal shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 24.3 minutes a game.

After L.A. holds media day, it will play its first preseason game of the 2025-26 schedule this Friday, Oct. 3, against the Phoenix Suns. Its first regular-season contest will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21, against the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena.
