Good morning, baseball fans!

The playoffs will get underway this week, but the season is over for the San Francisco Giants. I’m sure we’ll do some more reflecting as time passes, but I wanted to check in and see how Giants fans are feeling right now about the season as a whole.

Personally, I’m disappointed. And not just by the outcome. When things worked, they worked really well. But more often than not, just when the team got some momentum building, the wheels came flying off. Repeatedly. And violently. Passersby and onlookers alike were not immune from the damage.

But what I’m disappointed in more than anything is that, despite the changes in leadership, the organization as a whole still seems to be committed to floundering and sticking with the strategy of aggressive mediocrity. And what sucks even more is that I know they tried! They tried a lot of things! But ultimately committed to business as usual.

As of the time this is being written, they still have three games to play. Against the Colorado Rockies. With their current 78-81 record, it would take sweeping the Rockies to even end the season at .500. Which I’m not confident they will have managed to do.

Those are my initial thoughts, and we can revisit this topic later once the dust has settled. But I wanted to get a read on how everyone is feeling while the season is still fresh.

How are you feeling about the 2025 season as a whole?
