Nicole Beharie is the latest addition to the cast of Netflix‘s upcoming series adaptation of “All the Sinners Bleed,” Variety has learned.

Beharie will star alongside previously announced lead Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as well as fellow cast member John Douglas Thompson. The series, based on S.A Crosby’s book of the same name, was originally announced in May as part of Netflix’s upfront presentation to advertisers.

The official logline for the series states, “Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black Sheriff (Dìrísù) in a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer that has been preying on his Black community for years in the name of God.”

Beharie will appear in the series regular role of Darlene Taylor, who is the girlfriend of Titus Crown (Dìrísù) in the novel.

Beharie currently stars in the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” having joined the series in its third season and with the fourth having premiered on Sept. 17. Beharie earned her first Emmy nomination for Season 3 of that show, getting the nod in the outstanding supporting actress in a drama series. Her other television roles include starring in the Fox supernatural drama “Sleepy Hollow” as well as “Black Mirror” and “Scenes from a Marriage.” In film, Beharie is known for “Miss Juneteenth,” “42,” “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.”

She is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.

Joe Robert Cole is adapting “All the Sinners Bleed” for the screen and will also serve as executive producer and showrunner in addition to directing multiple episodes, including the first. The Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions and Amblin Television are also executive producing along with Cosby.
