Model/philanthropist Cindy Crawford and Holocaust survivor Ella Mandel will be honored with the “Award of Courage” at the Holocaust Museum LA’s annual gala, the museum announced Monday.

Crawford and Mandel collaborated this year when they posed for “Borrowed Spotlight”, an awareness campaign that highlights intergenerational advocacy, according to a statement released by the museum.

Museum officials said Crawford, a model, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, “uses her platform to raise awareness about antisemitism.” Mandel is a 99-year-old Holocaust survivor who has shared her testimony and messages of hope with students and museum visitors.

Other award recipients at the Oct. 28 gala will include podcaster, writer, and producer Jonah Platt, and Marissa Lepor, president of the 3G@HMLA board.

Platt will be honored with the Roz and Abner Goldstine Advocacy award for his podcast, “Being Jewish with Jonah Platt.” Lepor, a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, will receive the Jona Goldrich Visionary Award.

Hosted by KTLA5 reporter Eric Spillman, the Holocaust Museum LA’s “Shaping the Future” annual gala will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
