SAN ANTONIO – A local nonprofit supporting local homeless people has just selected its next leader after a nationwide search.

On Monday, Haven for Hope announced that their Board of Directors had selected Rhonda Mundhenk as the organization’s next President and CEO.

“Mundhenk brings years of experience with a longstanding commitment to equity for diverse, underserved populations,” said Terri Behling, Director of Communications for Haven for Hope. “She has served as the Chief Executive Officer for Lone Star Circle of Care and Clinical Health Network for Transformation (CHN), both in the Austin area, and most recently as Chief Operating Officer for Harbor Health Team, Inc., a healthcare model in Austin integrating primary and specialty healthcare in addition to providing health insurance plans.”

Mundhenk is an alumnus of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, as well as the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health, and a recipient of a Master of Science in Healthcare Transformation from the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School & McCombs School of Business, in Austin.

“We are very excited to have Rhonda join Haven,” said Haven’s Board Chair, Barbara Gentry. “She brings extensive experience in collaboration, community building, and leading successful teams. She has a passion for helping underserved populations. Rhonda will help Haven continue its success in helping our clients transform their lives out of homelessness.”

Jaqueline Bush has been serving as Haven’s Interim President and CEO since June. Mundhenk will start on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
