This week, tens of thousands of San Diego residents are invited to ditch their cars and hop on public transit to celebrate the sixth annual Free Ride Day.

Free Ride Day, which is Wednesday, Oct. 1, is aimed to highlight the region’s commitment to clean transportation on California Clean Air Day. It has also been the highest ridership day over the last few years, according to San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System.
