A body that was pulled from Big Fossil Creek in Tarrant County in September has been identified as a 67-year-old man, officials said.

On Sept. 22, Walter Duane Hartman was spotted in the creek just under Northeast Loop 820 around 5:11 p.m. by a pedestrian, according to Haltom City police and the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Officers were able to access the waterway from North Park, where they found his body and brought him to shore, police said.

At the time, police said there were no apparent signs of foul play. The medical examiner’s report does not provide a cause of death.
