Firefighter-paramedics transported Los Angeles City Councilmember Curren Price from an event outside the Convention Center Wednesday after he suffered some type of health issue.
Price, 74, and other city officials were at a ceremonial groundbreaking event for a Convention Center expansion project.
“During today’s groundbreaking for the Los Angeles Convention Center, Councilmember Curren Price experienced a health-related incident,” Price spokeswoman Angelina Valencia-Dumarot said in a statement to City News Service. “He will undergo evaluation to determine what factors may have contributed to it. At this time, no further information is available, and it is too early to make any determinations.”
Price, the Council District 9 representative in South Los Angeles, appeared to be alert and speaking with paramedics as he was transported on a gurney into an ambulance.
Price spoke earlier at the groundbreaking.
