TBR Football understands that Bayern Munich have already informed Nicolas Jackson that they intend on keeping him on a permanent basis beyond this season even if, as expected, the obligation on his deal is not met.

Jackson arrived on loan from Chelsea in the summer with Bayern paying a loan fee of just over £14 million – one of the largest in history.

The deal also included an obligation that will in theory see Bayern pay around £56 million – but that is only triggered via 40 starts for the Senegalese star and appears unlikely to happen.

Despite that, Bayern have already made it clear to Jackson that they will look to agree new terms with Chelsea. Likewise, Jackson to this point only has a long-term Bayern stay on his mind.

Jackson claimed his first goal in a Bayern Munich shirt in their 5-1 demolition of Cypriot champions Pafos on Tuesday and highlighted the fact that he and Harry Kane can actually play in the same XI.

Exclusive: Bayern Munich want to sign Nicolas Jackson permanently

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed that Bayern fully intend to negotiate the permanent arrival of Jackson in 2026.

Bailey confirmed: “Bayern Munich have been delighted with Nicolas Jackson since arriving, indeed, they have been hugely impressed by him following their first meeting with him.

“His commitment to come, which saw the player and agents sacrificing money to make the deal happen, to his insistence that the team he wanted to join was Bayern.

“All parties acknowledge that the obligation will likely not be met, also given that Jackson is due at the AFCON (tournament) in the New Year, but their commitment is solid.

“I am told it would take a major change of circumstance for Jackson not to join Bayern permanently.”

Bayern president Uli Hoeneß revealed in September that Jackson would be returning to Chelsea at the end of the season, but now it appears there has been a dramatic shift in stance at the Allianz.

Jackson has embraced the challenge at Bayern, as the 24-year-old continues to impress in Germany since he was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea.

At one stage, it appeared as if his loan move would collapse after Chelsea initially cancelled the deal, before deciding to recall Marc Guiu from Sunderland, allowing the Senegalese international to spend the season away from Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, TBR Football revealed Emanuel Emegha will sign for Chelsea in 2026 from sister club Strasbourg, meaning Enzo Maresca will have three senior options to lead the line from next season onwards, excluding Jackson.

How does Nicolas Jackson feel at Bayern Munich?

Although the Chelsea faithful appear relieved that Jackson is no longer in West London, he performed admirably last season, averaging a goal contribution every other game across his 30 Premier League outings.

However, the Blues ensured they were well-stocked in the centre-forward position with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro arriving this summer, albeit the former is still nursing a hamstring injury sustained in the 2-0 win against Fulham.

When speaking after the 5-1 win against Pafos in the Champions League, Jackson revealed that he feels at home at the Allianz Arena after his struggles in English football.
