Police continue looking for driver who hit, killed teen in 2023

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Over two years ago, a 16-year-old girl was hit and killed by a driver in west Phoenix. Police continue looking for the person who was behind the steering wheel.

Paulina Vargas-Ochoa died in June 2023 after she was struck by a vehicle late at night while crossing the road near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Video from near the scene captured a black Chrysler involved in the crash leaving the area south on 27th Avenue, but police still have not been able to identify the driver.

Anyone with information that could help in this investigation is asked to call Silent Witness. There is up to a $2,000 reward for a tip leading to an arrest.
