SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been arrested after their adopted child allegedly died as a result of continuous child abuse.
On Wednesday, the San Antonio Police Department held a press conference on the arrest of Jonathan and Christina Miranda, who have been accused of the murder of a 10-year-old child.
According to SAPD, in September, first responders were called to the family’s residence when the 10-year-old child was found unresponsive.
Despite the best efforts of the first responders, the child succumbed to their injuries and passed away.
Investigators at the time noted that the child showed signifigant injuries that were determined to be signs of abuse.
Officials believe that the child, who was a biological relative to his adoptive parents, had been abused for over a year before their untimely death.
Additionally, investigators were allegedly able to uncover surveillance video showing the two suspects abusing the 10-year-old.
Jonathan and Christina Miranda have both been charged with Capital Murder in connection with the child’s death.
