Zohran Mamdani‘s latest ad features him asking the question, “New York, will you accept this rose?”

In an outreach older voters, the campaign is debuting a Bachelor-inspired spot, “Rose,” during Wednesday night’s season premiere of ABC‘s The Golden Bachelor. The spot will run on the local ABC affiliate.

In the ad, Mamdani, appearing in a candle lit room, looks to the camera and says, “You deserve better.  You deserve to be able to raise your family here. To be safe.  To travel where you need to, free of cost and worry. You deserve someone who works as hard as you do.  Who thinks about you — every second of the day. That’s the kind of mayor I promise to be.”

He then picks up a rose and holds it to the camera.

“New York, will you accept this rose?”

Per the campaign, the spot is the start of a seven-figure ad buy. Mamdani, the Democratic socialist, won a surprising victory in the New York mayoral primary earlier this year in part for unconventional ad spots that broke through the clutter.

In the November election, Mamdani is facing former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
