Even though Legos are usually perceived as children’s toys, they’re often used by artists as a creative form of storytelling. Some builders push their imaginations by constructing large-scale projects such as cityscapes and castles. 

Some of those mind-blowing projects are coming to Fort Worth this weekend for the return of the Brick Convention at Dickies Arena. Lego of your worries and immerse yourself in some creative displays. 

Also, if you’ve never tried Greek dishes before, there’s a unique opportunity to sample Mediterranean delights at a Euless food festival. Find out more below!

Lego of your worries, enjoy blockbuster displays 

The event features shops, building activities and artist displays. Organizers will donate a portion of event proceeds to Creations for Charity, an organization that gifts new Lego sets to children in need during the holidays.

Sample delicious delights of the Mediterranean 

Take bites of pastichio and loukoumades while you enjoy traditional Greek dance performances. Guests can also walk through the Byzantine church and shop Greek-inspired decor and fashion.

Support creative spirits at Near Southside exhibition

The opening night show brings together 29 Tarrant-based artists to spotlight their artworks on a community wall. Matthew Nelson, founder of Tubman Gallery, will mix music starting at 7 p.m.

Connect with community during annual festival’s return

The event kicks off with a community parade before the venue opens with food, vendors, poetry and live music. A health fair will be available from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. inside the YMCA. Be sure to bring your own blankets and lawn chairs.

What: 16th Annual Harambee Festival

When: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 4

Where: William M. McDonald YMCA, 2701 Moresby St., Fort Worth

Admission: Free

Dance to one of the biggest Tejano music bands in the state

The concert will be headlined by five-time Grammy Award winner Little Joe y La Familia, one of the most popular Tejano bands. Salsa at the Gardens, Sam Houston Ballet Folklorico and Latin Express Band also will perform.

What: Hispanic Heritage Celebration

When: 5 p.m. Oct. 4

Where: Levitt Pavilion, 100 W. Abram St., Arlington

Admission: Free
