A woman was killed and a teenager wounded in a double stabbing inside a home in Queens by a suspect who may have also started a fire there, according to law enforcement sources.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. Thursday at house on Smart Street near 45th Avenue in Flushing during what may have been a domestic dispute, police sources said. A 50-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times, and a 17-year-old boy suffered stab wounds as well.

The 50-year-old was rushed to Booth Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about a half hour later. The teen was expected to survive, sources said.

Five NYPD officers were also injured, though the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear. One refused medical attention at the scene, while four others were taken to the hospital.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and brought to New York-Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition from self-inflicted injuries, sources said.

A knife was recovered at the scene. It appeared the suspect had started a fire at the home, law enforcement sources told NBC New York.

An investigation is ongoing.
