Amanda Anisimova is one of the form players on the WTA Tour right now, and she’s on the charge again.

The American came through a tough match against Jasmine Paolini to win two sets to one after dropping the first.

Anisimova is making history all the time with her performances, and she’s firmly establishing herself as an elite player.

After losing in the US Open final, Aryna Sabalenka made a prediction about Anisimova, and it does feel like Grand Slam titles will be forthcoming to the player in the future.

Zhang Shuai praised Anisimova earlier this week, and now the 24-year-old has another semifinal to look forward to in China.

The two American stars have only played each other twice on the tour, with each player winning once each.

The last match came at Wimbledon in 2022 when Anisimova stunned Gauff in the round of 32.

Gauff’s win came the year previous in Italy when she beat Anisimova in straight sets and the latest encounter promises to be a good one.

After beating Paolini, Anisimova was asked about playing Gauff, and it’s a match that she appears to be excited for.

She said: “I’m excited to play Coco, and every time we play, it’s always a tough match, and it’s actually going to be a lot of fun to play another American here, so I’m really looking forward to it now.”

In a side note, Anisimova has now booked her place at Riyadh for the WTA Finals.

The player will take part in the event for the first time, and in reaching the finals, she’s actually completed a goal of hers set at the start of the season.

She said: “Yeah, it’s my first time playing there, and it was a goal that I set for myself, so it was the only one I made, so I’m super excited and now I’m very excited for the semifinal.”

What Coco Gauff has said about playing Amanda Anisimova

Gauff was earlier asked about Anisimova by Sky Sports Tennis, and it would appear that she knows she’s playing someone who is in fine form.

The world number three said: “I think Amanda is one of the best ball strikers on tour and can hit winners from anywhere on court, so that would be a tough match-up for me.”

Now, the pair can lock horns and showcase just how healthy tennis in America is right now.

With Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro both looking to secure a place in the semifinal tomorrow too, the future does look very bright for the female game in the United States.
