Good evening, DFW We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

The same song and dance continues across Texas tomorrow and into the weekend. Dry air in the mid-levels will prevent any significant rain chances from panning out. Instead, we’ll see a ton of sun and highs in the 90s. Overnight lows are also trending warmer, so mornings won’t be quite as cool moving forward.

Texas-sized sculpture in Garland celebrates the city’s hatmaking legacy

San Antonio has a pair of giant boots at the North Star Mall, and now Garland has the hat to match. The city unveiled its Texas-sized cowboy hat sculpture during a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 27, in downtown Garland at 420 Main St.

Standing at 20 feet long, 16 feet wide, 6 feet tall and 15 feet in the air, it’s the largest cowboy hat in the state. The cream-colored hat — designed by Mello Signs out of Fort Worth — features the city name on the front band with a red and yellow flower emblem above it.
