As the federal government remains shutdown, both Republicans and Democrats are pointing fingers, yet no deal seems to be on the horizon. Two members of New York’s delegation, U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, a Democrat, and U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler, a Republican, joined Capital Tonight Thursday to discuss the shutdown and the politics surrounding it. Also, while the political parties battle it out in the press, it’s federal workers who are caught in limbo and some could potentially lose their jobs if the Trump administration makes good on its promise to cut down the size of the federal government.
