SAN ANTONIO — A child was rushed to the hospital after deputies say a father was riding a bike with his daughter when they were struck by a vehicle on the city’s Far East Side.The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. Thursday near Golf Vista Boulevard and Woodlake Parkway. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), an adult male was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike with his 4-year-old daughter. A nurse on scene who witnessed the crash rushed the child to the Baptist Emergency Hospital located just down the street from the scene of the accident. Deputies on scene said a vehicle was turning northbound from Gold Vista while the bike was traveling southbound in the northbound lane on the sidewalk. The driver stopped at a stop sign and looked both ways before pulling out, as the bike pulled out in front of them and the two collided. The driver remained at the scene.BCSO said the child sustained a head injury and some “bumps and scratches,” however, is expected to be okay. The child was transferred to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
