1. Halloween at the BOOseum!
The Children’s Museum of Houston has transformed its space into a Halloween hub for the kids to explore. Beset with all sorts of themed experiences and frightfully fun activities for the kiddos, the museum is a must for Houston families to enjoy this October.
Featured events this month at the museum include Labubu Meet & Greets, Electric Monster making-classes, Monster Storytimes, Franken Toys, and more.
On Thursdays starting October 9, the museum will also host Trick-Or-Treating. From September 17 to October 17, the museum is offering $2 discounts off admission for guests wearing their Halloween costumes.

The local Dewberry Farm has reprised its annual Fall Festival and BOOrific Nights. Enjoy from over 40 attractions across the 155-acre farm, ranging from a Texas-sized pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting zoo, to rides ranging from its Gold Rush coaster and CORNado, and more.
To really savor the flavor of the season, the farm also offers a variety of seasonal dishes on-site, including turkey legs to brisket.
From now until the end of the festival, Dewberry Farms will also host its annual BOOrific Nights. Taking place after sunset, the farm will come alive with family-friendly Halloween attractions including a Haunted Barn, Pumpkin Stroll, ‘Spooky Acres Creep Maze, among seasonal photo-ops.

3-4. Scream on the Green and Outdoor Movie Screenings
Among its other signature events returning this fall to Discovery Green is its family-favorite Scream on the Green. On October 25, Discovery Green will host a free, outdoor screening of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at the Anheuser-Busch Stage. If you’re looking for a wider selection of family-friendly films to see alfresco this October, check out the program at Rooftop Cinema Club. Over the course of the month, the rooftop theater is screening a number of spooky — but not scary films — for the kiddos to enjoy including the following:

The most wildly wicked event of the season is back at the Houston Zoo. From now until October 31, visitors can delight in the Halloween transformation of the Houston Zoo, featuring all sorts of seasonal experiences for the family to enjoy. In addition to returning favorites such as its Pumpkin Lantern Tunnel, Scary-Go-Round, and Pumpkin Tree, the venue is also debuting new attractions that include its immersive PhantomScape experience, Spooky Forest, and more!

6. Sloomooween at Sloomoo Institute
Houston is oozing with Halloween fun this October. No more so than Sloomoo Institute, now hosting its special Sloomooween experience for the season. Here, guests can plunge into vats of spooky slime, create their own Halloween crafts, and get imaginative at the DIY Slime Bar.
Plus, Sloomoo Insitute will host a series of events throughout the month including trick-or-treating events, costume contests, and after-hours events for families in Houston.
