LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Sevasphere presents ‘Diwali Dunz’ an immersive cultural experience in support of serving and uplifting the unhoused community of Skid Row on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
In celebration of Diwali being deemed a state holiday in California, Diwali Dunz give attendees the ultimate festival celebrating Indian heritage.
Known as the festival of lights, Diwali symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and hope over despair.
This family friendly event has live performances, traditional and contemporary dance showcasing, story-telling sessions, and immersive workshops.
There will be hands-on cultural classes such as mithai-making, diya decorating, rangoli design, and floral gajra making to embrace the deeper meaning of Diwali.
Festivalgoers can look forward to local food and retail vendors all day.
Founder of Sevasphere and Los Angeles stylist, AmbiKa “B” Sanjana, believes this event holds a deeper meaning more than ever.
“With Diwali now officially recognized as a California state holiday, Diwali Dunz takes on even greater significance,” she said. “We are proud to create an inclusive space where the community can gather to honor tradition, embrace joy, and extend light to others.”
