The Dallas Cowboys made a series of roster moves as they head into a Week 5 matchup with the New York Jets.

On Saturday, the Cowboys announced that they were placing safety Malik Hooker on injured reserve. Hooker sustained a toe injury in Dallas’ 40-40 tie with Green Bay last week.

With Hooker on IR, the team made a roster addition at safety. Alijah Clark, a rookie out of Syracuse, was signed to the active roster from the practice squad. Juanyeh Thomas is expected to start in Hooker’s place for Sunday’s Jets meeting.

The Cowboys also elevated wide receivers Jalen Brooks and Jalen Cropper from the practice squad for Week 5. Dallas will be without multiple key starters against the Jets, including receiver/returner KaVontae Turpin. Brooks and Cropper could be names to watch as the team aims to make up for Turpin’s absence.

To close out their roster moves, the Cowboys announced that cornerback Caelen Carson and receiver Jonathan Mingo would remain on the reserve/designated for return list. Both Carson and Mingo had their 21-day practice window opened this week as they look to return from separate injuries.
