NORTH JERSEY, NJ — If you hear a boom on the Hudson River this weekend, don’t be surprised.
Three fireworks displays were scheduled in Manhattan for the first weekend in October.
Residents on both the New York City and New Jersey sides of the Hudson River often take to social media to ask where the fireworks are coming from.
Fireworks can spook pets and wake babies, so it’s good to have fair warning.
On Friday, the Diwali Gala 2025 planned fireworks for 9:45 p.m. on the Hudson River, opposite Pier 62 on Chelsea Piers.
On Saturday, two displays were planned in New York City around 7:35 p.m.
The Flushing Development Center Moon Festival planned a display for Kissena Corridor Park.
