PHOENIX — One of the biggest holiday traditions in the Valley, ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo, is set to return Thanksgiving weekend, and tickets can be reserved now.

One of the notable additions to this year’s iteration is a virtual reality adventure with 360-degree animal interactions that also utilizes extended reality.

There will also be a new Storybook Nook, where guests can hear tales from a talking tree with the nightly “Mabel’s Fables” attraction.

Guests can also expect to see longtime favorites such as the light show on the lake, centered around a massive digital floating tree billed as the largest in North America. There’s also the return of the 200-foot light tunnel that has become a staple of the celebration.

The celebration utilizes more than 4 million lights in total, with more than 50 large-scale animal lanterns.

To make it a full night of holiday celebration, guests can get photos with Santa Claus. Hot cocoa and s’mores by a fire pit are among the treats available to guests.

Start date, how to get tickets for 2025 ZooLights

The annual tradition kicks off on Nov. 26, the night before Thanksgiving. It’s open from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. nightly with Jan. 16 being the final date.

General admission tickets will be $35 and $5 lower for Phoenix Zoo members; kids aged 2 or younger get in free. Spots can be reserved online now.

There will also be two nights of Cruise ZooLights (Nov. 2 and Jan. 18) where guests can enjoy the experience from the comfort of their own cars and one night with a sensory-friendly focus (Dec. 15) for guests who prefer that.

We want to hear from you.
