While these individuals were on scene, the suspect, a female involved in the vehicle accident, pulled out a handgun and according to eyewitnesses, pointed it at several persons on scene. She then attempted to leave the location without providing her insurance information. The woman then fired her weapon, hitting the victim (adult female). During this investigation at this location, officers were advised that the suspect was in custody. Further details state that the suspect had left this location and shortly thereafter, approximately one mile away south from this location, the suspect shot into an occupied vehicle several times. No person(s) was injured during that altercation. Shortly after that altercation, 911 call(s) stated that the suspect was located in the 8500 block of Meadowbrook Dr where he had rammed through a metal gate and was attempting to make entry into an occupied residence. Officers were able to make the location and place the suspect under arrest. No residents were injured. A gun was also recovered on the scene inside the suspect vehicle. Upon arrival officers located a deceased victim inside of the business with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Medical personnel pronounced the deceased victim on the scene. Additional shooting victims (5) were either transported by ambulance or self-transported to area hospitals for medical treatment. The surviving shooting victims all appear to be in stable condition at this time. Homicide detectives found that unknown suspects fired handguns striking the deceased victim and the additional shooting victims inside of the business in what appears to be an unprovoked shooting. The suspect(s) fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting and prior to police arriving on scene. Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. This shooting appears to be gang related, but the investigation is still preliminary and subject to change. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner, cause of death, and identity of the deceased.
