SAN ANTONIO — A mother is expressing outrage after her daughter, a fifth grader at Compass Rose Legacy Elementary, was allegedly bullied on the school bus.
Taylor Castillo claims she woke up on the bus to find chunks of her hair missing, reportedly cut by bullies. To conceal the incident, Taylor wore a hoodie throughout the school day and informed her mother only after returning home.
The girl’s mother, Andria Castillo, contacted police and has been in communication with school officials, including the principal, who is reportedly working to obtain bus video footage to investigate the incident.
Her mother claims her daughter has faced bullying issues over the past three years and feels that school officials have not done enough to address the problem. School officials have responded to the incident, but further details have not been disclosed.
In a statement sent Sunday afternoon to News 4 San Antonio/Fox SA the school says they are actively investigating the incident and will take appropriate action based on their findings.
