100 MEN WHO CARE News:

100 Men Who Care Los Alamos (100 MWC LA) selected LA Cares as the recipient of their September 2025 giving award. The group meets quarterly for a 30-minute social with simple food and drink, and to hear three pre-selected organizations make five-minute presentations. The group then votes on the organizations, and each member writes a check for $100 to the winner.

In addition to LA Cares, the group heard from Los Alamos Family Council and Odyssey of the Mind. The event was held Sept. 11 at the SALA event center and was catered by Juan’s Dumpling and Noodle House. Members donated a total of $3,300 to LA Cares, which provides food, rent, and utility assistance to any needy person or family living in Los Alamos County.

The group also heard an update from our June 12 event winner, Family Strengths Network (FSN). Jen Demas, Executive Director of FSN, described how donations from 100 MWC LA benefited their Grandparents and Kin raising children program.

The venue and catering were sponsored by Los Alamos Children’s Dentistry. This sponsorship allows one hundred percent of 100 MWC donations to go to the non-profit organization. Administrative support was provided by our partner, the Los Alamos Community Foundation.
