Bishop T. D. Jakes reassures everyone of his well-being after an unexpected exit during Sunday service at The Potter’s House Dallas.
DALLAS — Global faith leader and Dallas mega church founder, Bishop T. D. Jakes, is assuring global audiences and the church’s members that he is doing well after unexpectedly leaving Sunday morning services at The Potter’s House Dallas.
Jakes exited the pulpit as his son-in-law and co-senior pastor of The Potter’s House, Toure Roberts, delivered Sunday’s sermon. Jakes’ wife, Serita Jakes, and daughter, Pastor Sarah Jakes-Roberts, also followed him off the pulpit. Bishop Jakes had just returned to his seat after placing a monetary offering on the altar, and within seconds was rushed to the back.
Many church members grew concerned after seeing an ambulance arrive.
The church’s spokesperson, Jordan A. Hora, shared that Bishop Jakes is well and even joined his family for a pre-planned dinner at a local restaurant following what is described as a non-emergency incident.
“All is well with Bishop T. D. Jakes,” Hora said. “After service today, he took a brief moment to visit with his doctors for monitoring and rest as a responsible next step before enjoying dinner with his family as planned. We’re deeply grateful for the prayers and concern expressed by so many and want to reassure everyone this was simply a moment of responsible care, not a cause for concern. Bishop, Pastor Toure, Pastor Sarah and The Potter’s House family remain focused on faith, service, and the ongoing work of the Lord!”
Sunday afternoon, Jakes posted a photo of himself and his family at dinner together. Sunday’s concern follows nearly a year since Bishop Jakes suffered a heart attack while delivering a Sunday Morning Service witnessed by his members in person and the millions of viewers online around the world.
