One of two trained hawks that were stolen during a Rams game outside SoFi Stadium last month was found Sunday in Hacienda Heights, according to their falconer.

The hawks went missing Sept. 28 after a two-seat motorized cart, with the two birds on board, was stolen from the lake area outside the Inglewood stadium.

Bubba the hawk was recovered near Seventh Street in Hacienda Heights after a homeowner spotted the bird in her backyard. The good Samaritan contacted Inglewood police, who then reached out to falconer Charles Cogger.

“I made arrangements got over there as quick as I could, and got Bubba back,” said Cogger. “Alice is still out there, but this gives me hope she will show up.”

The hawks were inside containers in the back of the work cart when the thief took of with them. Christian Cázare reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.

The owner was initially told by police that two birds found dead in bags along with the UTV appeared to be the missing hawks, but the owner later learned the dead birds were actually quails used to feed the hawks.

The trained hawks were used by a handler to help deter other birds during events at the stadium.

Police asked the public to come forward if they have any information about the stolen items and the thief. They issued a news release that included a photo of a man sought in the theft.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone has been arrested.
