Child patients from Western Uttar Pradesh can now have serious illnesses diagnosed through genetic analysis at Noida’sChild PGI. Following similar facilities at AIIMS Delhi and Sanjay Gandhi Child PGI in Lucknow, the hospital has introduced exon gene sequencing at affordable rates.

The new facility enables specialists to confirm conditions such as thalassaemia, Down’s syndrome, and retinopathy within six to eight hours, allowing the timely commencement of treatment. The management highlighted that the test will benefit patients not only from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh but also from other states, as such services are currently unavailable in government hospitals in the region.

Dr Mayank explained that diseases often go undetected due to gene sequencing disruptions, but the new facility will allow early diagnosis and intervention. Dr Dinesh added that after testing a child, parents can also undergo sequencing to identify potential hereditary conditions.
