SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A reminder from San Antonio firefighters to clear out your dryer vents after a fire at a North Side apartment complex.

Crews were called to Sunset Canyon Apartments on Thousand Oaks Drive early Monday morning.

A fire broke out in a third floor unit, causing about $30,000 worth of damage before it was extinguished.

Investigators say the fire started because the clothes dryer vent and the machine’s lint trap were packed with lint.

Two residents have been displaced due to the amount of damage in their apartment.

The building had to be evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
