There’s a sound you can’t forget — a pulsing, precise, unmistakably Rush sound — and now the legendary band is rolling back into Cowtown for their sixth appearance, carrying the torch of prog-rock past and present, but without the late, great Neil Peart. From the opening chords of “Working Man” to the iconic riffs of “Tom Sawyer” and the soaring rhythms of “Limelight,” Rush has been a radio staple, a benchmark of prog-rock virtuosity, since the early ‘70s. Today, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® icons are still at it — bringing their newest tour, “Fifty Something,” to fans old and new.

Geddy Lee [bass, keys, vocals] and Alex Lifeson [guitar, vocals] — Rush co-founders and GRAMMY®-nominated legends — have announced their return for a headline tour that marks their first time back on stage together in over a decade, since the R40 Tour finale at the Forum in Los Angeles on Aug. 1, 2015. “Fifty Something” is a celebration of Rush’s music, their enduring legacy, and the life of Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist whose presence defined the band.

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil,” Lee said in a statement. “A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording, and playing together onstage. After all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we miss it — and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music. So in 2026, my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of Rush songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know, Neil was irreplaceable.”

Yet life, as always, has surprises in store. Enter Anika Nilles — German drummer, composer, and producer, who has performed with Jeff Beck for over 60 shows and released four solo albums. Lee and Lifeson describe Nilles as “another remarkable person…adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey.” Fans can expect her to bring a new spark to Rush’s enduring catalog while honoring the impossibly high bar set by Peart.

Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart, Neil’s widow and daughter, weighed in on the tour, saying: “We are thrilled to support the ‘Fifty Something’ tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist. Neil’s musicianship was singular…he profoundly shaped how fans connected with him and the band, giving voice and meaning to their own lives. As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable.”

Rush will light up seven cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, including Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena on Wednesday, June 24 and Friday, June 26, 2026. These special “evening with” shows will see the band performing two distinct sets per night — a careful curation from a 35-song catalog spanning their entire career.

Meanwhile, Rush has also unveiled Rush 50, a 50-track super deluxe anthology, Rolling Stone called “an epic saga…for the uninitiated or the super fan.” The collection spans from their 1973 debut single to the final live recording with Peart during the R40 Tour, offering a sweeping look at a career that has redefined rock music.

For those ready to feel the pulse of Rush live, 2026 offers a rare chance to sing and celebrate Neil Peart, plus marvel all at once. This is Rush as we’ve never seen it before — older, wiser, unflinching, and still untouchably brilliant.
